Are you old enough to remember when there was BetaMAX and VHS? How about Laser Disc, or even CD-I/VideoCD? In all fairness it was not that long ago. Maybe you do and maybe you don’t. It’s not a big deal. These were video formats that people would have in their home that they would watch personal/home videos or commercial movies on. The VHS tape out of all of them had the longest running history with Laser Disc behind it. Some places still sell VHS tapes today (yes, even Laser Disc too). Today we have two hard copy media formats that seem to play well together. They are DVD (Digital Video/Versa Disc) and Blu-Ray. Have you even took out your phone from your pocket or bag and tried to check something on the web and it just “hung” there? If you stare there at it for a while it will start work on its own again, and may think to yourself “Hmm, busy network…” Have you ever tried to resume a download that was running in the background only to find it never finished and when you go back to check on it, it wants to start all over again? Yes we love our pets. From the big ones to the small ones. From the feline to the k9. They are easily part of our life and some of us cannot ever see our self without them. However, when Fido starts to move around when you are gone from the house, he may set off your house alarm while you are away. This can be a hassle with the alarm company calling you all the time and the police at your front door waiting to hand you a ticket for disturbing the peace. So what is the fix? So one thing that I have asked others is why are they still paying for a landline that is costing them over 20.00 a month or more. Most people tell me that they have had their home number for years and do not want to lose it, or they have a home alarm system and they have been told they have to have a dedicated line in order for it to work. Some just have not even thought about it.
Today, most of us have a good broadband internet connection in the home and are already paying that 20.00 or more for. To some, this connection is vital for their job, or just sanity. Yes, some of us cannot live without a internet connection. You know who you are… moving on now. As long as you have almost a minimum broadband connection of 1.5Mbs down, you can take advantage of free or next to free home phone service.
